Fine Arts Courses

Students will focus on using the fine arts as a tool for ministry. Through the fine arts, students have an opportunity to express their Christian faith. They will learn that artistic, musical, and theatrical skills should be used first to honor the Lord and then to minister to others in varying settings.

Students are required to complete one (1) credit in Fine Arts for graduation.


Visual 2D Art

Length: Semester
Grade: 9-12
Prerequisites: None
Credit: 0.5

Visual 2D is to encourage both the beginning and the experienced artist to create art with the use of various mediums and techniques. Students will use pencil shading, colored pencils, watercolor, charcoal, pastels, and more to create a variety of finished productions.

Visual 3D Art

Length: Full Year
Grade: 9-12
Prerequisites: None
Credit: 0.5

Visual 3D Art focuses on the principles and element of 3 dimensional art. The students will use a variety of mediums including various modeling compounds, such as papier-mache, raised foil and acrylic drawings, Plaster of Paris, broken glass mosaics, and much more.

*Due to the cost of materials need for this class, there will be a $15 fee at due at registration.

Drama Studies

Length: Semester
Grade: 9-12
Prerequisites: None
Credit: 0.25 to 0.5

This course will focus on preparing and rehearsing for a production, which is given in April. Students will be given opportunities to be involved with all other functions of a large-scale dramatic presentation, including acting, advertising, choreography, costume design, directing and producing, lighting, music, script writing, and stage construction.

Students participating in this course will be required to participate in three to four Saturday construction days throughout the course of the semester, as well as some after-school rehearsals prior to the nights of the performances. Attendance is mandatory.

Human Video

Length: Semester

Prerequisites: None
Credit: 0.5

Human Video is a one-semester course offering with the goal of developing young people theatrically. Through physical and emotional expression, as well as using simple and complex choreographed movements, each human video team will illustrate a wide variety of stories with musical songs forming a backdrop.

Students in this course may be asked to travel to local churches, youth outreaches, and more for performances.
